Never experienced pottery before but want to have a go at hand building? This course covers the rudimentary skills required to hand build items from clay. Techniques such as pinching, slabbing and coiling will be covered to give you a good understanding of the way that items are made.  Simple pinch pot seed heads are usually the starter item followed by slab-made plates or platters before trying coiling if time allows. After the 3rd session your finished work needs to dry and be biscuit fired in the kiln. The 4th session will be used to glaze your piece/s in colours of your choice from our extensive range of brush on Amaco glazes. All inclusive price includes all clay and equipment, biscuit firing, glaze and glaze firing. All tuition, equipment, tools, clay and glazes will be provided to allow you to unleash your creativity. The aim is to produce some pieces of work using each technique that can then be finished in Sessions 1-3, returning on Session 4 once your work has been biscuit fired for glazing. We aim to get your glazed work through the kiln for you to collect about 2-4 weeks after the glazing session. Fun and informative - Always great with a friend.  This course feeds into my regular weekly sessions if you wish to continue your clay journey - space allowing.

PLEASE NOTE THE STUDIO IS SITUATED ON THE FIRST FLOOR AND ACCESSED VIA STAIRS.
